I'm a COVERGIRL at 70 - it only took 50 years!
I began my modeling career when I was 15 years old in Johannesburg. While modeling, I completed a BS degree in dietetics, took a break to have 3 children, then completed a Master of Science degree while running a modeling school in the evenings. I worked diligently at my education, never imagining my modeling career would span more than five decades.
After moving to Toronto at 42, I continued modeling, represented by the Elite Modeling Agency. I then obtained my second MS degree, in Nutritional Sciences, from the University of Toronto, and rewrote the exams to register as a dietitian in Canada and the US. These qualifications and enthusiasm for good health send me around the world on speaking engagements. My health tips are on www.mayemusk.com. Yes, I love being a busy lady!
At 50, I moved to New York and my modeling career took on an exciting new energy with major campaigns.
To celebrate my 60th birthday I stopped coloring my hair, cut it short and let my natural silver color shine. The new look brought many major campaigns, billboards in Times Square, covers of Elle Quebec, New York Magazine, L'Officiel Azerbaijan, Grazia UK, S-Moda, Vogue Korea, Prestige HongKong and the "It Girl" in Vanity Fair. I also enjoy being in music videos such as Beyonce’s Haunted, and many commercials such as Covergirl and Tiffany and Co.
I love traveling for speaking engagements and modeling jobs. IMG Models represents me worldwide, so my passport and suitcase are always ready.
With 11 grandchildren, I’m concerned about good health in all children. That is why I promote Big Green, building vegetable gardens in underserved schools around the country. Over 500 have been built, aiming for 1000.
My favorite hashtag is #ItsGreatToBe70 because it is!
